Preface/Introduction

Co-hosted by the China Heavy Machinery Industry Association, the China Machinery Industry Federation, and Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai Ltd., the 2026 China (Shanghai) International Heavy Machinery Equipment Exhibition opened grandly on September 21 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. Held concurrently with several upstream and downstream themed shows covering metallurgy, steel structures, pipes, wire rods, and refractories, the exhibition forms an industrial chain platform of nearly 150,000 square meters and brings together more than 300 leading upstream and downstream brands. Under the theme “Innovation Drives, Chain Links the Future,” it focuses on key technology breakthroughs and collaborative innovation across the industrial chain in heavy equipment.
Jiaozuo City Brakes Development Co.,Ltd. (“JIAOKAI” for short) made its debut at this industry event. As a “Specialized, Refined, Distinctive and Innovative” Little Giant enterprise certified by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and a Henan Province Manufacturing Single Champion, JIAOKAI is one of the few domestic manufacturers with a full range of heavy-load braking capability across seven major scenarios: mining equipment, metallurgical equipment, ports and ships, lifting machinery, water conservancy and power, land and air equipment, and wind power. Since its founding in 2003, JIAOKAI has done just one thing for 23 years—making industrial brakes thorough, deep, and refined, living up to the simple promise of “Letting the World Stop and Move with Control.”

JIAOKAI’s booth presented braking system solutions covering lifting and transportation, metallurgy and mining, port machinery, and land and air equipment. With 23 years of deep specialization, the company has built a complete product matrix centered on industrial brakes, wind power brakes, locking pins, couplings, friction materials, and hydraulic drive units, capable of replacing mainstream domestic and international brands of brakes and providing one-stop service from selection consulting to operation and maintenance support. The standing as a main drafting organization of 2 national standards and 3 industry standards, the accumulation of more than 50 independent intellectual property rights and 14 invention patents, and the systematic investment of 2 R&D centers, 9 specialized R&D teams, and more than 50 engineers are what give JIAOKAI the confidence to benchmark against international brands at a heavy machinery exhibition.
The core highlight of this exhibition is that JIAOKAI is systematically extending the mature technological genes forged in wind power braking to heavy machinery braking scenarios. For harsh conditions such as heavy load, high frequency, high humidity, and high salt fog, JIAOKAI continues to iterate on friction material optimization, heat dissipation structure, and sealing systems, improving the wear resistance and thermal-fade resistance of its brakes. Key products adopt dual-channel braking and fail-safe design, which can still provide reliable braking force even if a single system fails, meeting the strict requirement of heavy equipment for safety redundancy. Whether equipment can move depends on power; whether it can stop safely depends on the brake—this is the product philosophy JIAOKAI has verified repeatedly over 23 years.

During the exhibition, JIAOKAI’s booth welcomed leaders of the China Heavy Machinery Industry Association and its branches, OEMs, end users, and technical experts from design institutes. Focusing on braking pain points under typical working conditions such as port quay cranes, metallurgical lifting, and mine hoisting, the JIAOKAI team held dialogues with a “conditions first” customized approach— free on-site diagnosis first, then targeted configuration, and finally delivery. The booth became a venue for heavy-load braking technology exchange, which also confirmed the industry’s real need for braking systems to move from “single-product purchasing” to “complete solutions.”
30,000+ pieces of commonly used models kept in stock, emergency spare parts shipped within 48 hours, engineers on site within 48 hours—this service system, refined to maturity in the wind power aftermarket, is being transplanted by JIAOKAI to all heavy-load equipment scenarios. “Giving solutions matters more than getting orders” is a true reflection of JIAOKAI’s attitude toward cooperation: the technical team provides free on-site diagnosis, with no charge and no strings attached; as a result, more than 60% of customers have established stable cooperation of over 10 years with JIAOKAI.

Association Interview: JIAOKAI Speaks on Innovation

Association Interview
During the exhibition, “Jigong Media,” a partner media of the China Heavy Machinery Industry Association, visited JIAOKAI’s booth for a live interview. JIAOKAI mainly shared two latest achievements:
First, a smart brake with online monitoring, which lets the brake “speak for itself”—real-time monitoring, self-reported faults, and early warning—switching customers’ operation and maintenance mode from “repair after failure” to “maintenance in advance,” in line with the industry’s digital and intelligent trend.
Second, diamond friction-enhancing shims, metal sheets with diamond particles embedded on both sides, with a friction coefficient of up to 0.6, about 2–3 times that of conventional friction surfaces, and resistant to water, oil, and corrosion. Without enlarging the equipment or adding weight, friction goes up—offering a new materials solution for high-end equipment with tight space and strict weight requirements, in line with the industry trend toward larger and lighter equipment.
Intelligent upgrading and materials innovation going hand in hand is exactly JIAOKAI’s answer to “the advancement of domestically produced heavy-load brakes.”
In international market layout, JIAOKAI adheres to “follow customers, build on quality, retain through service”: its products are already exported steadily to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe and other regions. It first goes overseas together with outstanding domestic OEMs, then builds local service capability to establish the brand, avoiding price wars and winning customers through technology and reliability. The intelligent direction is connected with host systems and customers’ operation and maintenance platforms; the green direction translates into longer friction material life, lighter products, and higher transmission efficiency.

Forum Scene
On the afternoon of September 21, at the China Heavy Machinery Industry Chain Collaborative Development Forum, Hou Ke, Marketing Director of JIAOKAI, was invited to deliver a keynote report titled “Domestic Substitution of Heavy-Load Brakes and Industrial Chain Collaborative Development.” Using the three-stage framework of “Catch Up—Keep Pace—Lead,” he shared JIAOKAI’s 23 years of practice:
Step one, “Catch Up”: domestic substitution for large-tonnage equipment such as bridge girder erection machines and girder lifters, breaking the monopoly of overseas brands so that China’s heavy-load equipment can “have” reliable domestic braking systems;
Step two, “Keep Pace”: through a PLM collaborative design and R&D platform, rigid-flexible coupling dynamic digital simulation of brakes, online monitoring and diagnostic technology, and a complete test and verification system, making domestic brakes “easy to use”;
Step three, “Lead”: full-series domestic production of wind power brakes and locking pins, and serving as a main drafter of 2 national standards and 3 industry standards, moving from “replacing imports” to “participating in global competition.”
At the forum, Hou Ke also put forward three initiatives of the “JIAOKAI Model”—standard collaboration (jointly participating in industry standard formulation), data collaboration (opening operating condition data for joint R&D), and overseas collaboration (OEMs and component companies going global together). This concept won wide recognition among industry attendees.
From the booth to the forum, from products to ecosystem, JIAOKAI’s first heavy machinery exhibition trip was both a concentrated display of product strength and a proactive calibration of its position in the industrial chain. Domestic substitution of heavy-load brakes will not go far by going it alone—it requires sustained collaboration among OEMs, end users, and core component companies, the seriousness behind every single screw, the rigor in every operating condition diagnosis, and the mutual trust built on every piece of open data.
JIAOKAI is willing to use its 23 years of braking technology accumulation as a fulcrum and, together with industry partners, be a long-distance running partner, not a one-off dealer, jointly pushing heavy-equipment safe braking standards ever upward. On this road, JIAOKAI has set out and will keep going.
